This is the best quince paste made anywhere, period. Santa Teresa has been making quince paste in the World Heritage city of Avila for well over a century. It is made with fresh Spanish grown quince, which are peeled, poached and then slowly cooked with only sugar and lemon juice. This is a mile away from the cheap mass produced quince pastes made with imported pulp, thickeners, stabilisers and preservative. Santa Teresa Quince Paste is fruity, slightly tannic with a firm texture and is perfect with cheese. It comes in three formats. The 170g, attractively packaged for self service retail sale and the 1.4kg and 2.9kgs are cost effective for foodservice use. For serious cheese shops we can recommend the 2.9kg It can be turned out onto a board and displayed for sale with Santa Teresa logo showing imprinted into the paste. The paste can then be easily cut down and sold by weight with a good margin. For Pastry work Santa Teresa Quince Paste can be used in Quince Danishes and whipped and piped as a filling for warm quince donuts.
