Luke Powell, former chef of Tetsuya’s and Mary’s fame, opened the beloved LPs Quality Meats in Chippendale back in 2014. He soon became renowned for his delicious house-made smoked meats and smallgoods. After six years, LPs has now made the transition to a predominantly wholesale business, creating a purpose-built meat-processing plant, with their Tennessee-built Southern Pride smoker taking centre stage. All of LPs smallgoods use Australian free range pork, fresh spices and garlic ground just before mixing. They’re then cooked in LPs’ Southern Pride smoker - with meat cooked on whole logs of applewood and ironbark, sourced from the Blue Mountains, which gives them an inimitable smoke and flavour.
