Coaldale Walnuts
Coaldale Walnuts was established in 1997 by Phil and Jane who left city life in Sydney to realise their dreams of rural living in Tasmania.
The Coaldale Walnuts team pick green walnuts in late December before the shell forms and pickle them whole in a unique blend of sugar, local apple cider vinegar and spices. The end product is pretty spectacular.
And they have the trophy cabinet to prove it. Coaldale Walnuts has won gold medals at the Hobart Fine Food Awards in 2012, 2014 and 2018 as well as a silver in 2015 and gold in the Australian Food Awards in 2017 and 2018.
